YOU PROBABLY HAVE HEAT!!!!


I am so tired of zero sun!!!! Last year, and now this year, the most terrible gardening conditions... and half the solar power of years past.

Oh hi!! Why yes we do! It even got up to 100 last summer!

Oh man that sucks! My oldest bro lives down there and has been complaining about the no sun as well! I wish I could send some your way

Yes! I set out potato cuts to harden over before planting... spread out, in filtered sun... and they molded. MOLDED.

Full on, how is that possible?

I also got mold on my seedling trays...

The only thing that looks happy are my nasturtiums... even my cabbage doesn't look that happy.

Oh my goodness!! I'm am so sorry that is tragic! I have been raising chickens for about 5 years now! I lived on the Kenai my whole life until just 3 years ago when we moved up here.

Were you chasing the heat? Wanted more snow for sled dogs, or running away from the influx of new people?

We were sick of people infiltrating the Kenai and a piece of land popped up and the rest is history. Definitely weren't chasing the heat! How about you? Have you always lived on the Kenai?

I have been here for 25ish years... so yeah, the influx of new people is..... unpleasant.


I REALLY want more heat.... and less people, but I would have to divorce if I want to move.


This year my sons are helping rebuild all infrastructure. Fences and animal buildings



I am hoping next year to build an inground greenhouse. The retaining wall aspect of the greenhouse is giving me pause.... I might see how much it costs to have that done by a professional.
