I have the wire that is used to reinforce concrete as the top of my run this year. It is holding up perfectly.

It does have big holes, so if used as a wall most of the chickens could squeeze out, but as a roof, it is working fine.

I did think that I should wire chicken wire to it, but I haven't done that.

I might be able to run 2x4s across to help hold it up. There are currently no supports across the top, just chicken wire. It's not really a huge deal that it's sagging. Other than it looks crappy and you have to watch your head

I like the idea of using the concrete reinforcement wire. Would that keep hawks out though?

I have a jillion raptors, and it has kept them out. It is thick wire, so easy for them to see.

I have several breed i am hatching out now as we type this. FBCM ,EE/Ameracaunas, Welsummer bantams, Japanese,I have a Drk Cornish x Jersey Giants.. for my meat project.. plus some buff orpintons, and some buff O X barred rock...I will have some of these in next three weeks,,,
