Thanks a lot for the information! :) Being on BYC, I've been trying to ascertain what kind of climate I have compared to places in america, seeing as that's where most people here are from. Climate can have a lot to say for outdoor poultry keeping, after all

This year Juneau has been hammered! But usually it is a mild area. The biggest issue there is that land and housing is difficult to come by.

Also, chicken feed is expensive. Feed up here is close to 30 bucks for a 50 pound bag. For most things, the closer you are to Anchorage the less expensive. If you are off the road system prices jump up.
