Hello everyone!
i will be going this year for the second time. I was in awe last year on how many birds there were. I bought 2 young silkies last year but had a horrible incident with an opossum in the coop and lost them....i am hoping to buy a few more silkies again this year if i can get their early enough i am driving from upstate NY.

Does anybody have any quality silver laced wyandottes or barred rocks? I have the hatchery quality and they aren't that pretty to look out (but don't get me wrong I love my gurls lol) I just want to "spruce" up my flock a little . If anybody has any and are going to the show,let me know! Thanks

Those 2 breeds are very common at the show so finding them for sale wont be hard. I do know a great source for barred rocks and most people who have barred rocks uses his line all over the U.S. he's not from around the northeast but he ships eggs/chicks anywhere. Pm me to learn more.

All i know is i am counting the days down till the show!!! i have never shown chickens before and would love to someday but i have no clue on how to start.

Go to backyard chickens and read everything! I read 1300 posts about silkies genetics and showing before starting. I still made some rookie mistakes but I did avoid big mistakes!! It is so fun to raise chickens. Be sure to read about chicken math! My 10 chickens limit is now 50ish.

I have a question for seasoned congress attendees. Do people sell out of their cars? I went to a few shows this year and their were as many people selling out of their cars as inside the show. I was thinking this venue would be strict about it. Last year I went to the show but didn't have a coop yet.
