Ditto on that! You have further to go than I do. Bad weather would suck.

I have never been to a poultry show. I am excited, and a little scared. What if I see something I really want?! I will have to decide between a divorce or another chicken! lol

It is a really big show. Last year there was over 1,000 birds entered to show. They have a good sized sale area. The top of the top of breeders meet there and show. Last year i won champion AOS with my Black Amercana Pullet in the juniors. Very nice show. I will be going.

There is no admission fee, anyone can come in to look

I was a member of the NEBC, but they have been through some rough patches and are putting it back together.

I have heard so many wonderful things about this show, I cant wait to go!

However, I have no facilities to quarantine new birds if I brought them into my flock, having learned the hard way that not every bird in a show is healthy, what do all of you do with your new birds? Are these sellers screened in any way before showing? Vet health certifiacates or anything?

Also, what kind of prices do they ask for thier birds? We want a blue egg layer, and a cuckoo maran, but I dont need show quality, will these be 12.00 birds, or 50.00 birds? (I am not expecting exact quotes, obviously, just an idea of a budget to bring....)

Thanks!

This is what I was told when I emailed them

"Yes, we have a SUPER Sales area at the Poultry Congress. People come in from all over the area to buy birds.

All people selling birds must be exhibitors. And to be an exhibitor your birds to need to be tested.

We do this is keep the sales area healthy. "
