Northern Bobwhite Quail Hatch-Along and Questions

Here are the Day 15 Embryo images. As you may notice, the first egg shows striking similarities to what happened to the fourth egg, more noticeable today. The second egg, as usual, has shown no development. The third egg has shown the best growth out of the bunch. The last egg still shows stunted development.

The next time I'll be posting will be July 19th.

Here are the Day 18 Embryo images. As you can see, the first image has not shown development, meaning it has most likely passed on. The second image, as usual, shows no sign of any development. The oval egg know fills the entirety of the egg, other than the air sac. The final egg also appears to of deceased, as it has shown no development over the past week.

The Last Day I'll be posting embryo images will be on Saturday the 21st. After that, the oval egg will be on Lock Down, and cannot be disrupted except to add humidity.

Here are the Day 20 Embryo images. The first image has not grown, and will not be in the incubator any longer. The second egg has shown almost no development the entire time, and will not continue to be in the incubator. The oval egg has shown healthy growth and will continue to grow in the incubator. The final egg had stopped growing a while ago, and will not be in the incubator any longer.

Here's what the incubator looks like in lockdown...

The egg should hatch late Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. I'll be posting video clips and images of the Bobwhite Chick then.

Today marks the surviving egg as overdue. We decided to do something called a "Float Test" as described here - https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...iability-for-late-or-overdue-hatching.383525/. It turns out the egg still has a possibility of hatching, but we're still uncertain whether or not it will. Here are the pictures we took of the Float Test.

Hopefully, the next time this thread gets an update, it'll be good news. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This will be the last of my posts on this thread. The Bobwhite Quail Chick is dead, it never hatched. It seems that it stuck to one side of the egg, which caused something like its beak to be very deformed. The following images are of the chick. I didn't want to pull it out of the egg, so it's still in half of the egg.

I hope that anyone following the thread enjoyed the journey, I hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer.

I’m so sorry. I had my first batch of quail earlier with that incubator and it worked out pretty well but 2 didn’t hatch and 2 more didn’t grow at all. Good luck next time
