Northern California Meet Up/Chicken Swap - Sunday October 10th!

Great, I can start saving 'em up now! I know there are some in the coop at the moment, I'll go grab them and put them somewhere safe! And I wouldn't charge much for them, maybe $10-15 depending on how many eggs I get before then? Hopefully around a dozen by Saturday if we're lucky. My birds have great fertility and produce gorgeous babies!

No problem! It's good you asked, it keeps me from sticking more in the incubator when I already have a bunch of serama chicks!

Hubby and I are going to be there. We are making a weekend out of it and coming down Saturday and staying at the Lafayette Park Hotel. I don't know what I'll bring for eats but I am sure I can find something. I am also bringing a few Icelandic hatching eggs. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Mary, do you have Olive Eggers? I can't remember if I've read that you do, or don't? If you do, would you by chance bring some of those eggs too?
Talk soon.

Dang, I just paid for my room.

Plus, when I have house guests before a get-together, I make them work.

Wouldn't want to get caught in a similar trap!

I had guests last weekend and I left a to-do list in the guest house that included items such as install the stove, reverse the doors on the refrigerator, add a cable outlet in the bedroom, and paint the insides of the kitchen cabinets. Hmmm, wonder why they left early?

But, I sure appreciate the offer. We are kind of making this a celebration weekend for finally closing escrow on the house we sold. It was a struggle.

I have 13 Icelandic eggs collected now so I should have at least 6 or eight more by Saturday. I'll probably sell them as six packs. I don't have a price on them yet as I usually just give them to people and ask for a donation to the Icelandic Chicken Preservation Society in Iceland. I raised enough this Spring to pay for new feeders and waterers for their show cages! I have an extra teenage roo right now but something tells me the Lafayette Hotel and Spa would not appreciate my bringing him along! People would be calling 911 all night to report the sounds of someone being strangled in our room.

I think I may have to take you up on six (or maybe a few more) of those Icelandic eggs, oooh!

And I considered bringing my OEGB cockerels along originally, but I'm staying Saturday night with relatives and I somehow don't think they'd be thrilled to have two cockerels having crowing competitions.

Unfortunate that cockerels aren't good travel buddies, isn't it?
