Bill and I had to miss it this year and I don't have anyone to go with next year. Would be fun to go with a group.
STEPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You won my eggs! I get half of what you hatch. Then they won't count.
I so wanted to pick up some FBCM chicks. Instead I've been ordering eggs all day. See what happens when you're homebound?
I just wanted to say what a great time I had today my mom really enjoyed it as well. Cheryl thank you so much for opening your home and making this happen and everyone who help set it up. Also the chicks are amazing...the two BR are named Wilemina and Wanda and the Brahma is Gertrude aka Gerdy thank you again so much!
Cheryl, let me be yet another attendee thanking you for opening your home and property to all of us! I had a great time! Only spent about an hour getting lost and un-lost but DID make it at noon.
Before I left home, I wasn't able to catch the Silver Sebright roo I was hoping to give away to anyone who wanted him, so at least I didn't have to truck him back home again.
I want all of Cheryl's chickens, but Abby especially. What a charmer.
Ate too much. Met people I've "spoken with" on BYC. Met other people, too. Ate too much really good food. Got an autographed Coops for Dummies book! Woo hoo!
Cheryl, your designs for various things are absolutely GORGEOUS and I want to buy a whole lot more of 'em! (Bought a beautiful glass cutting board with a watercolor painting of a Buff Orpington on it. I'll keep it for display only - even if I did cook, I sure wouldn't use it for such mundane tasks.)
Sure were a bunch of adorable babies to see, plus some equally adorable PLUS well-mannered human kids there. Gives me hope for the future!
I have to add that I was able to harbor a teensy bit of smugness for already having some hatched chicks from Wynette's eggs, as various lucky people won some of Wynette's spring hatching eggs in the Door Prize Raffle. Yup, Olive Eggers and Jersey Giants. Neener neener neener. Of course, that means I also have a few extra roos to try to find homes for, pretty darned soon!
Again, it was a great meet up and I was SO glad I was able to participate. And people seemed to like the pasta & specialty cheese offerings I picked up at the Nugget Market Deli. Whew!
When's the next N Cal meet up???? Stockton, huh? Count me in!
Thank you for allowing all us chicken people come to your lovely home. Your coops are such an inspiration, you've done an impressive job! I had a great time, and enjoyed everyones company. we appreciated it!!
