northern nevada

I live in Fallon also! My Rhode Island Reds and Black Australorp's are on order. I am new to having chickens.

I am in stagecoach. I have everything, ducks, chickens, horses and a llama. I have a Pigeon that thinks he is one of my chickens. Ferrets, dogs...

We need more of us here. We could get together and do some swaps. Everything from birds to hatching eggs.

Not sure if anyone is watching this thread, but I'm in Carson City and looking to source local hatching eggs. Anyone know of any resources? Willing to drive @ a hour or so if need be.

Thanks.

Are you looking for any specific breeds? Cross breeds? I have a Golden Laced Wyandotte Rooster that is in with Golden Laced Wyandotte hens, Rhode Island Reds, and Black Australorps. I'm in Fallon.

Hello. Am new to back yard chickens. I have 4 and am on the learning curve. My chicks are teens. And three days in to the experience. Any advice for a newbie is appreciated!

Hi there! Welcome to the forum and keeping chickens. What part if Northern Nevada are you in?

Tips? .... hmmm....

I'd start with defining what you want from keeping chickens and taking into account how you feel about it all. Some people keep them only for their usefulness...others keep them as pets. Some people are emotionally attached and some aren't. Some are a bit of everything. Lol. Anyway, one you know what you want and how you feel start reading up on what like-minded chicken owners do.

The basics of keep them safe, dry and fed sort themselves out. There are LOTS of topics here. Anytime I have questions I do a quick search here to see what others have done about it.

Good Luck!
