Northwest Colorado anyone??

Well since I wasn't really planning on getting a roo, I wouldn't be too particular on his breed.

I understand how you feel, I will wait and see how well they all get along together.

I understand roos can be pretty entertaining to watch, and who doesnt like an auto alarm clock:lol:

I'm actually hoping for a good roo out of my hatching stock. A good blue orpington roo

I'm hoping I can re-home the ones I'm not going to need.

Coloradochick, you've got to be very careful with a roo that can cause a great deal of frustration if you don't train them up right. I mean that can hurt you really bad. They've got to think of you as the head rooster and you've got to be diligent in showing that you are the top dog. Which might seem a little rough and mean to you at times.

They are very beautiful though, and sometimes you can get a nicer one, but they will always want to protect their girls.

Hi D, I'm not sure if I want to mess with one yet. But the security factor would be nice. I would definitely not have a problem letting him know I'm in charge. I could also see myself becoming the dropoff for unwanted roos. They are extremely beautiful birds and it just kills me like I said earlier to have them butchered because they are roos. But then I started thinking if I'm going to get one I probably should try to stay with a type of breed that I'm getting as hens.

I don't know I guess I'll play it by ear. How does collecting eggs differ with a roo as opposed to without one?
