Not a barred rock?

Black sex link?

It has no barring so it should have been able to tell that she wasn’t barred rock since day 1 as a chick.
(Would have had a white dot on the head)
Most of the chicks in her bin had the white spot but she did not. I had read that the spots were smaller in females so I figured since you can’t get much smaller than none she would be a female. Otherwise she looked the same as the rest.

Most French black copper Marans have leg feathering. Of course this could be one of the few that doesn’t have it, but it still doesn’t look as large as bcm do at that age. My bcm are as big as chicks almost a month older than them, they just get so huge.

These were my black copper Marans at just over 3 weeks

Looks a lot like my girl when she was a few weeks younger! This is her now

I’m not 100% sure what she is but I was told she was mixed, w possibly a black copper maran.

She should have had some white on her front since birth, the brown starts to come in at the back of their neck around 3 weeks. So I think it might be a sex-link then, though I don’t have experience with that breed.
She actually does have white/creamy yellow on her front which you can kind of see in this photo (right after she got her toenails painted by my kiddos )
