Not a blue Orp ...no way [SOLVED PG 3]

At four Months old, she is really big! at least she looks big in the pictures, I'm not sure how fast Marans Mature, but with those huge wattles and comb I still think Rooster, but I hope thats wrong and it turns out to be a Hen for you. The picture of the 7 month old pullet doesn't even look as mature as your bird to me? The wattles are smaller and the comb is large but not as deep red as yours either. I'm hoping hen!

I take back the comb color, just went back and looked again. The comb and wattles are bigger but not as red.

they just help. Low and behold, as I was outside today, "she" is on the nest!!! Now, to try to get to her egg once she lays to see what kind it is.

How fun.

I that bird is 9 moths old, it is a hen. She has no saddles and no roo hackles.

Edited: Oops....didn't see the post about the nest until after I posted.

Now keep in mind that this breeder only had the Wade Jean line I think it is of Copper Marans.... I'm still thinking the orpington is in there somewhere, or is that impossible given the beautiful egg color? Gosh, I love learning on here.
