They think we're trying to MURDER them!
Yep! Or rather in my case, they firmly believe that I'm trying to ruin their lives!

And I don't even  know what poor Spry is thinking Im trying to do to her when Im shoving calcium down her throat! Poor bird is confused.

I'm proud of her though, she's dealt with much unpleasantness over the past two weeks and still cooperates

How long do we think I should continue calcium for?
I've been aiming for 600mg of calcium citrate daily, and that's worked
But I'm scared to reduce the dose again for fear of another soft shell. Perhaps, try to get strong shells for at least a week, then halve the dose and see how we go?

They love and trust you. that makes all the difference in the world. ❤️

Well she's in a bad mood again today and on top of everything else she's hurt her leg or something
She's been limping

Feet look okay, there may be a tiny bit of heat/swelling high up her leg, not sure if I imagined it.
I feel incredibly deflated today

Good news is she laid another okayish egg overnight

Poor girl. Are you letting her out any time during the day for a walk about and time with Dougie? Warm soak in some Epsom salt water may help her leg feel better.
Yeah, she gets several hours out of the coop, and also comes out for stretches in the evening, and before bed

I'll try giving her a soak
She had a lot of energy last night and flew into the pool, so I'm thinking perhaps she sprained or bumped her leg during that somehow
I only noticed it this morning, while she was slowly walking about

A little extra vitamin B complex when they have a sore leg is what I do
I’m able to get Medicam from my vet so I have extra here I give a dose if I see one limping

I think I have some medication left over from when Dougie hurt herself last year, but that stuff is old, I don't know if it would be safe or effective to use now

She's getting extra nutritional yeast on her food today, I know that's not as effective as B complex, but I figured worth doing for now
