Not again 😣

It really feels like it is
First Dougie, then some bizarre egg blip, followed by a series of bad quality eggs and now Sprightly has troubles again

I haven't changed their diet or anything so I don't know if it is my fault
It just sucks having this repeat and each time I fear a different ending :(
I can't even say that I'm relieved because I'm just dreading tomorrow

I'm so sorry you're going through this :hugs

We had a lot of cuddles, she received a lot of kisses. And after she'd had a preen, a little nap as she recovered from her ordeal, I put them back outside to bed

I'll have a look at their feed and everything tomorrow, hopefully she'll be okay

sometimes it's just genetics and nothing you can do. my girl lays perfect eggs and i've never had a problem, but i know people who take amazing care of their ducks and they still have egg issues. another duck instagram account i follow had two sister ducks who both had egg bound problems, so i don't think your doing anything wrong at all just the way they are

I wish I could say that she was back to herself this morning but she isn't.
Usually she quacks like mad, as soon as she hears me coming to let them out. Today she was silent. Let them out, and she didn't want breakfast
Tossed her an egg, not interested.

Tossed her some calci worms, she ate a few, got bored of them fast.
(Before I gave her calci worms): Her crop didn't feel empty, I can feel pieces of food, but not much.
Her butt is super dirty, nothing dried on or causing issues, but it makes me think she's having really watery poops still. Makes sense because she isn't eating, but I'm going to run back outside in a minute and give her some nutri drench and her dose of calcium
Perhaps I should also give her electrolytes if she didn't perk up

Okay so they are in peak laying age. Poor girls, about all you can do is give supportive care which you are doing. Hopefully the calcium will help get her back to laying normal. Quite a few on here have gone the way of hormone implants but @New duck mommy 2021 didn't have a good experience with that with her female.

At what age should they get over the peak of laying? 2, 3?
They didn't even get to take a break this winter :(
