Oh no what happened?I jinxed it
She's been displaying some symptoms of being egg bound, tail has been down all day, she's been tired but unable to sleep, just keeping to herself and she's refused to eat since early afternoon- she's inside in a warm dark room now and I'm keeping an eye on her via a baby monitor camera, she has water and is passing it so if it is an egg its not properly stuck, I think? She had a warm soak about an hour ago and is acting a bit more comfortable but still no egg. I've had a feel, cant feel anything there. She's had 600mg (full dose) of calcium with Vit D and I guess now we're just waiting to see if she lays. Hopefully the warm dark room helps her to relax and feel better as she is definitely not a happy girl. Tail is still down, but she's having a bit more of a rest now she's indoors.
She laid her egg in the end and feels so much better this morning, it was a pretty normal egg, not sure why it had her so uncomfortable and feeling so down, but I'll keep an eye on her and hopefully we get back on track... perhaps it was her first egg in a while and her body was simply unhappy about it?
Hopefully your girls do okay when they start back up!That could have been it. I always worry when mine start back up since they haven't laid since Oct. And probably won't start back till March and they are much older than your girls.

Yes I hope that Miss Lydia's do well too and that yours stays well. I got three eggs today, two from my Muscovy Ducks and one from my Runner Duck I got back in May. As cold as it is I am surprised they are still laying for me.
