Gave her a warm soak to get her feeling better, normally works
Didn't work
She doesn't even want to preen AT ALL since getting out. Just stands there looking tired and miserable. Doesn't want anything to eat either. Even the egg.

It took a while to get her feeling a bit better

She kept her tail down, ever since she laid the egg which was before I even went outside. Warm bath did nothing to get her feeling better. She was just so weak and her breathing was so loud. Seemed strained, as though still pushing.
I dried her off, she didn't want to preen at all. Then I cuddled her, completely covering her, and she finally relaxed and got sleepy. Held her like that for quite a bit. I was actually becoming quite afraid that I was going to lose her. I could tell she was hurting.
But when I put her back down, she went after a fly. And then ate a small treat, a few calci worms. Tail is still down, but when I put her to bed she was starting to preen her feathers so I think she's going to be okay tonight

From watching my own ducks when they lay a soft shell it’s really hard on them and takes a while to get over it. I’m relieved to hear she finally started feeling better.

It was extremely thin, very easy to break without much force at all.

She seems very uncomfortable again. She was limping and her tail was down so she's inside for a bath. Does sitting there in the water breathing heavily and pumping her tail very lightly.
She has that look on her face, the look that tells me she's tired and stiff because of pain. But she won't sleep.
That's always a dead give away that she's not feeling well.
