Not an egg

I've heard of lack of calcium causing really thin/non existent shells, but I am not sure if that would cause a hen to die suddenly?
It could be noted that stress can cause that, as well

It can. If the thin shelled egg breaks internally it can cause a fatal infection.

Did you see the chicken do it? Wondering if it’s also possible they ate the egg?

We feed them pellets, cracked corn, meal worms and on cold mornings hot oatmeal.

What is the protein and calcium percentages of the pellets?
Cut out the cracked corn and oatmeal.
Hot Oatmeal is for humans, not chickens
