Not eating your own chickens' eggs??

That's the first thing I told her when she said the coop was dirty! I clean my coop once a week and do a full bleach and water scrub once a year.

Is the pin really that dirty or is she being silly because she sees a lil chickiepoo?

Well, I am glad to hear that I am not the only person who thought this was insane! The funny part is her husband told me she buys eggs from the store!!

So, me being me I asked them why don't they allow their oldest daughter tend to the chickens(she is like 8) and my friend gets this shocked look on her face and said "I am not letting her go out there with those chickens!" Ok now at 8 years-old I was feeding cows, chickens, hogs, and horses without any adults. I have no clue what people think is so wrong with their children learning to care for animals. I guess my parents and grandparents were just crazy for allowing us to learn about and respect animals of all sizes. I can fully understand of not eating the eggs if you don't like them or can't eat them but just to waste them when many people are doing without right now is stupid.

Hubby and I don't eat a ton of our eggs and I really don't do a lot of baking. The dogs get one each on their food a couple times a week, but I also give any eating eggs away. My neighbor is retired and has her son and 2 grandchildren living with her, her son is unemployed and I give them a dozen or so each week, it helps them. I also will give them to anyone in need. I used to give some to my friend AL, but I just enabled him with some hens..... LOL

I couldn't get my mother to eat the eggs, until I fixed her a toad in the hole and forgot to tell her that it was not made with a store bought egg. She really liked it and now has no problem eating them.

My husband eats 8 eggs at a time and he prefers our hens eggs. He says they taste better.

I would tell her politely to clean her coop and then she might not mind eating them.

I have not clue why they have them and keep getting more. I just think it is so wastefu to let those eggs rot. Then she calls me up yesterday asking if I have any extra hay I can give her for her chickens. I told my hubby she can go buy some because if she is just wasting the eggs I am not giving her anymore of my cow hay. I have been telling her she could sell the eggs or heck just give them away to people in need but she told me she doesn't go out to the chickens period:he. I enjoy just watching my flock, I find it relaxing. Maybe I am in the crazy one! I would feel like a fool buying eggs out the store knowing I had fresh eggs waitting at home for me.
