Not eating your own chickens' eggs??

That has been my question too!!! I don't understand their way of thinking to be honest. But then what scalds my milk is the fact they keep asking me for hay for their coop but if they are not cleanin an making nest what do they want with the hay??

SInce you are contributing to their "cause" then its time to just have a straight forward talk with her.
Adult to adult. And start the conversation that way.
At the very least, they should be giving you the eggs in return for the hay.

Settlers in New England used to catch lobsters and till them into the soil for their crops. I HOPE that your friend doesn't let them sit around until they rot--Oh, WAIT...THEN she'll say that the chickens STINK, and have to get rid of them...hope you'll be waiting for some free birds, then!!

...go figure

Do you know they asked me to let my hens hatch some chicks for them...as if thats happening. Why would I do that when they are not caring for the few that they have as they should.

Once I found out that they are leaving the eggs to rot in the coop I have not given them anymore hay. I told them they could buy some straw like I did when all my hay was wet.

This may just be the most insane thread I have come across since joining this site.

Not eating my eggs is like having an artesian well with the best tasting, most refreshing water to hit my lips and instead drinking tap water & trust me, our tap water sucks!

You should tell your friend that those "dirty" eggs from her backyard birds are far less prone to disease than the ones she buys from the store. Those come from birds kept 6 to a small cage stacked 8 feet high in rows 400 feet long with over a million (literally) other birds.

My husband even informed my friend of how nasty commercial chicken farms are and she told him he was insane.

I just gave up and refuse to give them hay or let my hens go broody for them. Not happening. I will not even let them have eggs to hatch. They can buy them from a hatchery.
