I have a ton of chickens and I don't eat eggs. I ate some when I had some hard times and couldn't afford food (literally)... but other than that I breed and give some away to my mother and her friends. I just like chickens.

That all being said... I do think it is a bit silly to LIKE eggs but not eat your own hens' eggs.

I dont understand that.

Growing up, we would eat any kind of poultry eggs. If its there its either for hatching or eating.

You know what, that is down right wasteful to just leave them.
Maybe the OP can ask her friend to give her the eggs to sell or give away for her.........
At the very least take them to a shelter that will use them.

I was a bit queezy at first. They DID come out my pets butt after all.
Now if I'm going to bake I use the bland eggs from the store so I can eat the good eggs straight.
I only have 3 girls (one of them just went broody again

) so my supply is sometimes limited.

A lot of people who are allergic to chicken eggs are not allergic to duck eggs

We eat the duck eggs from our utility ducks... most runners and khaki campbells can outlay any chicken.... egg laying machines! I admit though that I was a bit timid about eating the eggs when they first started laying. They do not look like store bought eggs in cleanliness, and they belonged to my babies! However once we turned them into omelets the first time, I got over it.

A very good suggestion. But first be sure that they are not rotten..... it's obvious but thought I'd say....

I'll never forget when I collected for a friend when she was unable to due to illness I gathered her eggs and some exploded ....it was bad..............
