We bought a house out in the country last summer and got some chickens not long after. I'm always reading and learning things on here and just finally signed up to start posting.
I currently have 6 chickens and 5 guineas (3 lavender and 2 royal purple). I have a buff orpington rooster, a buff orpington hen, 2 Easter Egger hens, and 2 mystery mixed breed hens. I got an incubator for christmas and I am trying to hatch some eggs for the first time. I have 3 blue eggs, 2 eggs from my little mystery hen, and 4 silkie eggs in there now. I ordered a Brinsea Ecoglow 20 for their brooder.
In addition to our birds, we also have 2 dogs and several cats. Two of the cats grew up with my rooster and spend lots of time with the birds. Often, they even sleep together. My rooster will chase away other animals and cats, but not them. We love our animals. They bring us a lot of joy!
