Most companies have no-pets-at-work policies because of liability. However, the only time we hired "tree guys" the owner himself came out with his crew, small company, so they may not have specific policies - heck it might have been the company owner's own dog and his thoughts are probably "it's my company and my jobsite so I can do whatever I want" Unfortunately too many companies (even small ones) have forgotten what "customer service" means.
He was contracted to cut trees, not takeover your property while he was there! Geeze!
I've only brought a dog "uninvited" one time, and I felt bad about it, but the situation was that I had the puppy with me and after I got there (over an hour from home) someone wanted to take me to their mom's house sooo the pup had to come too. They invited her in (I was gonna leave her in the truck as the weather was cool and it was shady and they had other dogs) so I kept her on a leash beside me the WHOLE time -even nside their house- she was an angel and they loved her.
I would be really peeved if someone brought their dog over and just let it run amuck!!!
