About five or six days ago we thought that our silkie went broody for the first time. She spent two days in the nesting box (coming out for food) but then starting acting pretty normal. She hasn't laid an egg in about a week. She's maybe acting a little lethargic, but nothing too noticeable. About two days ago I noticed the was shaking her head more than normal. I did a check for mites, impacted crop, and egg bound issues and everything seems normal there. This morning when I opened the coop and she came out for food I watched her stretch her neck so that it was almost on her back and then jump. Suggestions about what's going? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have poultry vitamins on hand?

BTW... Welcome to BYC.

This is another great one and might actually be better for this instance.

I gave her a dose of poultry cell. Is this something I should do daily until she’s back to normal?
I would give it to her for a few days in a row to see if it helps.

Maybe offer her a boiled egg and a spoon full of tuna fish too.
