One last time! 2 of my hens never layed an egg during the time I have owned them to the best of our knowledge. Pretty hard to present positive proof to back that up without cameras and 24/7 observance. Behavior patterns and visual observance is my best evidence. Nearing 2 years watching over my girls you would think I would see them on the nest at least once so lets get realistic in backing up what we know from what we have seen.
Getting to the root cause and posing a question in search for an answer can almost always be answered with another question! Funny how that works. Go to the doctor with a cold or sore throat and he will ask you a list of questions before he provides you with an answer that yes you indeed have a cold or sore throat! There is no cure for the common cold, he or she says, but take this and it may help. No sarcasm meant, just my own realistic perspective.I expected to get questions on the thread I posted and found more questions and "0" answers. Adding a footnote requesting answers only please takes the apple out of the applesauce! Its impolite to serve up just the worm in the apple.
Going into our third year of raising chickens, the BYC website has been a great library and instrumental tool to educate us. The forums and thread communications for feedback are great conversational help aides when you have a question or information to share. Issues and concerns occur more frequent than one plans on and it is always good to call on some friends for help!
