Not quite absorbed yolk sac.

If the chick still alive untle tomorrow Contact him,Or be lucky for some breeder expert to see this.

What you have set up is an awesome little contraption.

Ive only had one chick with the yolk out at hatch survive. There wasnt much. I stuck it to the chicks fluff on its belly and let it dry. I have read to put them back in their shell in a cup set upright and wrapped up to keep them still. I havent tried it though. (I think so far ive had 4 with yolk out at hatch.) One of the others was in the same hatch. It lived a week, it seemed healthy acted normal aside from constantly seeming to be cold. The stress of moving to my sisters house was too much for it.

What youre doing is probably the best thing you can do. Just know, if it doesnt make it chicks that stop after zipping do need help. Going in was the right call, malposition can cause them to be unable to absorb their yolk. And it's difficult, but not impossible for them to survive hatching with their yolk not fully absorbed.

:fl hope bebe makes it.

Oh, I got em off of eBay, they shipped about 800 miles, not his fault about bad hatches. He actually wrapped insanely well.
I got mountain quail eggs that came about 200 miles from me package perfectly. Only 7 were fertile, 5 actually hatched and all died within 48 hours!:hit:he No idea what happened all were eating and drinking. It must have been a bad breeding, because I have hatched 6 bobwhite. They are all fine and in the EXACT same set up. Same wood chips and everything. I contacted the guy, no answer, which is weird because he had the best reviews. :barnie

Thank you! I might take it off for a pic, but there didn’t look to be much, if any yolk left. To me it looked more like the yolk sac.

That blows. I’ve bern looking for mountain quail in my area, can’t seem to find any decently priced ones near me. I’m not paying 250 for a pair of chicks three hours from my house with no survival garentee. Sorry for sucky spelling.
