Sorry, it's my policy not to answer general questions via PM since having things posted in the public forum allows a ton of other peeps to review and post their experiences and feedback.

Here are the reasons why emails may not be getting through:

  1. Subscription settings are not set properly, check them here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/users/subscriptions/
  2. Email address may not be set correctly in our system, check your profile
  3. There may be a delay in our server sending out emails. While the delay should never be more than an hour, there have been cases where it has taken up to 24 hours
  4. Your email client / program may be marking the emails as spam. Check your email spam folders and filters. Add [email protected] to your "whitelist" and your address book
  5. Your ISP / email service may be blocking or marking the emails as spam

Those are the only reasons we can think that may cause emails not to be received from our system.

Well... farfenugen...
I believe I have my subscriptions set for immediate. I had not changed them but today did go and change them and then put them back to immediate in case it just needed to be reset.
My email is correct.
The last email notice I got was sunday at 5pm (1/22/12)
I checked my "junk" folder.
I went online to my servers spam/virus folder where things that are suspicious get held up. There is no backyard chickens email there. I am not sure where else to look.
I think my account is broken..

Maybe if I log out and then log back in..... BRB

Dang it! It didn't work. Ok I really do think something is broken. Is there anyway someone can look at my account and see if I did mess something up? I don't remember making any changes when this started but who knows?

I looked at your profile and you have selected "immediate" for emails. When you are in a thread and you want to subscribe, there is a dropdown where you can select "immediate" for that thread as well -- but it should already be set to this for you, since it is selected in your profile. I'm afraid you are just seeing what we are all seeing, a problem with the email sending, which we are aware of, and working on.

The other thing you can do is click on "my subscriptions" at the top right and check the threads. I know this is less convenient, but.... until this issue is resolved, maybe this will help.

I was receiving email notifications of the threads I was subscribed to for quite a few weeks. Then 6 days ago they stopped arriving. I have checked my subscriptions & everything is marked correctly. I have also checked the threads to see if someone has currently posted, & they have. Is there something else I should do or just wait it out ? :)
