Not RIR?

I purchased a few hens for my parents, 4 BOs and 2 RIRs. I have not raised any chickens outside of Thai game chickens so my knowledge of none Asian game chickens is very slim. Point and case, I was told this was a RIR and they were purchased as such from Tractor Supply Company last year as chicks. I am 99% sure they are not RIR. They look like red sex-links aka Golden Comets but I’ve yet to see any GC at TSC. Any clues?

Looks like an Isa Brown. Once I got five hens from TS that was said to be White Jersey Giants and were some of the smallest best egg layers of Brown eggs I have ever had. They looked like Tetra Tints. If that when is a Golden Comet you can breed it with a Buff Orpington rooster and get Buff Comets. Those are pretty good.

I have an ISA Brown almost identical. Not saying an ISA Brown, but definitely a Red Sex Link of some sort. RIR are a dark shade of red, more like mahogany.

All the RIR I’ve seen online are a much deeper red. Is there a color difference between a golden comet and an ISA brown? I know both are just red sex links using slightly different cocks and hens

I have had both. The Isas looked darker and more brown and the Golden Comets seemed more red.

In the picture, 3 ISA Browns and 1 White Leghorn. Notice I have a light red/white, a medium red, and a dark red with white ISA Brown. I think it’s a crapshoot of colors. Nice to tell them apart.
