JJ, you are 26, I'm 46, and trust me, things can get much worse and much better. I'm not going into detail but I can empathize with you in so many ways, my life has just come unraveled in the last 6 months of this decade. My faith was shaken years ago when I was kicked out of my church for my divorce. Now sometimes I feel like I'm being punished all the way around. Sometimes I feel God is trying to bring me closer, other times he's up there laughing like hell at me and my Goddess is laughing right along with him. I've avoided relationships for the past 10 years because I just couldn't deal with the drama any longer and now I have trouble even going out with someone on a date or just for fun, I go alone now. I hope your year turns into a good one, it won't overnight, but it can get better.

Lean on those you trust, leave those you don't, cleave to those you love and separate from those who would use and hurt you.
The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Life is nothing but a series of appointments and disappointments.

While the things you listed were indeed problems, they do not seem all that big to me.

Truck can be fixed, their is a way to get sparkplugs in and out without breaking'em off.

You didn't marry the crazy girlfriend, so you were able to break up.

Lots of people on the job have been cut to ZERO hours with ZERO pay, so be thankful you got what you got.

Plumbing---- $h** happens.

Time to Man-Up.

Amigo, pardon me in advance if this sounds blunt. You did say you wanted advice and not pity, and I'm going to take you at your word.

If those are the worst problems you have, you're way ahead of average.

Wage and hour cutbacks? Welcome to the recession. At least you still have a job.

Crazy girlfriend? There are approximately 3 billion women in the world.

Home and vehicle maintenance? Get used to it, it's never going to end.

You're young and apparently healthy. It doesn't get much better than that. Go do some volunteer work on a cancer ward, it'll open your eyes and give you a sense of purpose.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself, and stop waiting for an invisible superhero to fix things for you. Life is what you make it, and the days are ticking by.
