It depends on the breed and the individual bird, but for me the roosters always crowed a month or so before their sisters started laying. So at around 5-7 months. But of course some can crow way before that. I was supposed to be receiving 12 Bielefelders, 10 female, 2 male and also received 4 extra.
Now I'm unsure as to breed and gender and the person I ordered them from won't return my emails.
They are just over four weeks old. TIA!

Thank you in advance! This is a blue Cochin, around 3-4 months old.
Cochins are hard to sex, their tails (hens and roosters) aren't that much different.
They are to young to sex.Roo or hen? Here are the other 2 from this same hatch on 4/8/16. White one's mom is a white leg horn, brown one's mom is some kind of game bird, (I'll attach a pic of her). Dad to both is "Fertile Fred" mixed breed ,(I'll attach a pic of him too)
