Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

They looks like pullets so far

Your blue laced reds are actually splash laced reds. Splash laced reds come from blue laced red x blue laced red breedings. The only one that looks like a cockerel is the first splash laced red, but I’m not absolutely sure.
That's cool, How do you tell blue from splash? Is it because they are such light "blue"?
Yeah... Ruby is my mainly suspected roo, I guess we will have to wait for crowing to know for sure!
Thanks!!!

(I was also wondering if the green sheen a saw on Comet's tail means anything, or if it is normal)

Thank you... again!

They are almost 9 weeks.
Okay... here are my pics:

CONFETTI (speckled sussex)
Looks female

RUBY (blue laced red wyandotte)
??? I'm not very familiar with them. Could be a male

PHOENIX (Easter egger)
Female
BTW- Love this pic. :lau

LAD (Easter egger)
Looks girl-ish so far

COMET (possible Welsummer)
Female

TRUDY (blue laced red wyandotte)
Female. Very pretty but has a single instead of a rose comb

SPARK (possible Welsummer)
Femakle

DOTSON (Easter egger)
Tricky one!
Female-ish so far. Keep an eye on the feather coloring. There are areas that appear solid, darker red. That's a sign of a male. This one may cause me to change my guess in a few weeks if those patches become more distinct.

DISHTARKI (Easter egger)
Looks female so far

Barred Rock ladies? I only have the two. Cory is the first photo and Chicksy is the second photo. Thank you!

Hello! I decided to start another thread on helping all you back yard chicken farmers determine the sex of your chicken.
I know it can sometimes be super tricky to identify gender in chicks, so that's why we made this thread! No need to start your own thread, just hop on here and share a picture of your chick, making sure it's at least 4 weeks old before asking gender. Me and @Jetblack2004 are almost 100% on genders for chicks 4 weeks+.
So feel free to ask lots of questions regarding gender. We do NOT identify breeds, only gender. However, if anyone out there is good at identifying breeds, please let us know, we would love to have your help!

Thanks!

I’m still unsure. This rir is now 6 weeks and favors a roo. Any idea?

Thanks! I agree, Ruby seems quite rooster like! I like Trudy's accidental single comb... maybe it will help with the heat! Dotson definitely has the biggest comb out of all the EE! It seems to me like every one of my EE got the red patches... although some are more distinct than others'. Phoenix seems very hen like so I'm hoping the patches doesn't matter! :fl
I'll watch the patches... and the combs :D.
Thank you. Helpful thread!!!

7 week old RIR, supposedly sexed pullet. But out of the 4 chicks that we got, 2 have already proved to be cockerels. This is Gus, and s/he looks very different from the remaining RIR chick of the same age. Help...

Hi! This is my first post on backyardchickens.com -- could you help me determine the gender of two of my chicks? I got them on May 1, 2020 from a local pet store. So I'm guessing they are 6 weeks old. They were sold as straight run and labelled as Golden Laced Wyandottes. I have since come to believe they're both Easter Eggers (they have fluffy cheeks and green legs), but I know breed is not what this thread is for--just looking to find out if they're pullets or cockerels. I thought they were both pullets until a few days ago the #1 "Astird" got a little pinkish hue in her comb. #2 "Olopop" has no pink in her comb.
