[Hummingbird Hill]

Another 5 week old Easter Egger. The seller said they were sexed as female by the hatchery, and I chose this one because she was smaller and more feline looking than some of the others. Does it look like a pullet? Thanks!

Ruby is the only questionable one... leaning toward pullet, but not sure.
All the others look like pullets. Lad has a bit of an odd looking comb, but still pale, so female.
The green feather sheen is called iridescence. Both male and females can have that, although roosters tend to have more. Makes them flashy! Australorps have full body iridescence, even the hens. Very pretty for an all black bird.
And possible Welsummers... my two are very loud, so if the one with its mouth wide open is hollering, she probably is a Welsummer.
Appreciate you taking such good pics, especially of the combs which are hard to get!

I new it was normal for the SS to have the iridescent feathers (which Confetti is covered with), but I was not sure about other breeds, thanks for clearing it up!
The two I was most worried about was Dotson and Ruby... Lad didn't even cross my mind... but it sure would help her/him fit his/her name! The "Welsummers" really aren't that loud... they save their mouth energy for trying to bite off your fingers!!!
Also... I took the pictures early in the morning so everyone's comb was extra pale, maybe I should have waited longer... I could always try a couple more pics...?
(Sorry for posting so much... maybe I'm just being a nuisance, but I have lots of questions)

That's cool, How do you tell blue from splash? Is it because they are such light "blue"?
Yeah... Ruby is my mainly suspected roo, I guess we will have to wait for crowing to know for sure!

Yes, it’s because of the lightness of their coloration.
You don’t have to wait for crowing. At around 12-15 weeks the gender is almost always obvious. At that age cockerels start to grow in their male specific pointed saddle feathers.
The green sheen is normal for cockerels and pullets.

Hi! This is my first post on backyardchickens.com -- could you help me determine the gender of two of my chicks? I got them on May 1, 2020 from a local pet store. So I'm guessing they are 6 weeks old. They were sold as straight run and labelled as Golden Laced Wyandottes. I have since come to believe they're both Easter Eggers (they have fluffy cheeks and green legs), but I know breed is not what this thread is for--just looking to find out if they're pullets or cockerels. I thought they were both pullets until a few days ago the #1 "Astird" got a little pinkish hue in her comb. #2 "Olopop" has no pink in her comb.

For silkies, it’s much too early to tell what gender they are

Hello These are my 4 week old cochins/pekins. I'm sure I won't know for sure for a couple more weeks but would love some gender guesses from more educated people I'll just upload 2 images per bird but I have a million more if needed.
Chick 1 - Lavender/grey (photos 1 and 2)
Chick 2 - Pale brown (photos 3 and 4)

New to BYC, and I would like to see if my cute 7 week old polish is a hen or roo? No comb or wattles visible yet. Feathers on the head are rounded on the ends and pretty much covers this little cutie's eyes...crazy little bird, but I just adore it

Silkies take a longer to sex than other breeds. So far no male traits, but that could change next month.

Red - Could go either way. There is some color & wattle growth = male. But it's not obvious. (2nd pic, the color looked very pale - almost girlish) Could be the lighting .
