Looks like a cockerel to me due to the red wattles and comb at this age.

X2! From what I can see you clearly have some pullets in the background but the one in question seems like a cockerel or a really early bloomer. But what do I know? I've only had 2 BO's in my flock and they didn't look red like that until point of lay.

We just noticed dark golden feathers that are very shiny coming in right before the tail....do you think this is the appropriate age to begin seeing that if it's a cockerel? My pullets are definitely pullets..peachy colored combs that are still quite small and wattles that are barely visible at this point. Plus my pullets don't have shiny feathers...

That was our thought also but wanted other opinions haha...he sure looks much different from the 5 pullets and he walks around the enclosure like a guard dog
