Here are my 4 week old babies. They are all very feathered, except the silkies. What do you think they are? You can guess the Silkies for fun since I know that is hard but they are cute.

Here are my 4 week old babies. They are all very feathered, except the silkies. What do you think they are? You can guess the Silkies for fun since I know that is hard but they are cute.

They are to young to say for sure but the first one looks like your only possible cockerel so far.

This is our first time raising chickens. We asked for 4 pullets. There's a mix, as you can possibly see from the pictures, and am now noticing just how they can vary in size. I've done some research for each and more specifically for the SS which is the one I have questions about! I did get her to be the one that grew the fastest but at this point- with sounds of what might be the beginning of crowing- I am worried. I always seem to miss the initial single crow so I'm not even sure which its coming from. They all their chirping sound when I'm actually studying them- of course. We are not allowed to have roosters in town so would not like to have to end up annoying the neighbors enough to have to say goodbye to them all. From what I've read through many forums they are the hardest to distinguish and even some pullets can decide to crow

so I just want to be sure!

Rooster...

Yeah, that's totally a rooster. A hen won't get wattles like that until point of lay, about 20-25 weeks (varies by breed of course, but not this young).
