The pea comb, muffs, and yellow skin indicate Easter Egger in the lineage. Legbar/Marans would produce single combs and clean faces. If Ameraucana were used for the Olive Egger lines, he would have white skin, since both Ameraucana and Marans only have white skin, and it's dominant over yellow skin. Thanks! Yeah, that was what I thought, but lately I've second-guessed myself so wanted to be sure.
You're saying the other black one might be a cockerel? Or a second-gen Olive Egger? I think it's likely that it's a second-gen olive egger, and I may be wrong about the genetics of their olive eggers. I assumed cream legbar since they also breed cream legbars but could be easter eggers...

Thank you! I just learned something! The pea comb, muffs, and yellow skin indicate Easter Egger in the lineage. Legbar/Marans would produce single combs and clean faces. I'll get more pics when my roommate is home they're about 12 weeks I think maybe a little olderHow old? Full body shot of each standing, in natural lighting would really help.
I have six copper black Marans chicks who are now around 9-10 weeks. There are no obvious gender signs that I've observed yet (my Seramas of the same age are very definitely either male or not-male!). Have I really got all pullets? Is this breed known to declare itself late?! I am glad if I have girls but I really want a boy too!!
