Oh, I thought I was looking at the tail specifically, which looked pretty similar. But yes, I see how the back feathers are different now.

Thank goodness she's really a she, or I was going to be pretty upset. She's one of our favorites. Thanks again; you're the best!
 
7 week old ameraucana. I thought cockerel for sure but then it's comb never darkened and it's brothers did.

Do they feather in similar to easter eggers?
They are usually slower to feather and mature than Easter Eggers. And just because a two birds have the same parents, it does not mean that they will mature and develop at the exact same rate. Submissive cockerels do usually take longer to turn red.
