This very lovely bird was deposited on our farm (we rent here, people drop off roosters all the time). This bird was molting at the time and all the other hens from the farmer almost pecked it to death. My son felt bad for it and has been inticing it into our yard with cat food. Now that it is OUR friend our rooster has left. I had to collect him tonight from the farm, he was sleeping with some other ladies.
I need to know if this beast is a rooster or a hen. Rooster, then it needs to go once it's healthy, hen well i guess it's the top of the pecking order. But it is TOO big for our mini ladies and I love our rooster that we already have.

AND I am wondering if you can help me SEX these chickies? Born on September 22. There are 9 of them. But I think once someone gives me a few to go on I will be able to figure out the rest. 2 eggs I took from a Red-Sex-Link and put under the mom so they are a bit different but both have developed the same, so I think we have 2 of what ever CHICK # 1 is.
I am also attaching photos of the MOM (Mixed what ever) DAD (Silkie mix Easteregger) just for reference.

MOM , Mini Lady. She is so small that at 6 weeks all the chicks couldn't fit under her any more. In the last week another hen has adopted 1/2 the chicks and is feeding them and nesting with them all at night.
