Still trying to figure out what Gordo is . Supposed to be a buff orphington. She/ he is the calmest and sweetest bird, to the point she is in a recovery pen( cat carrier) since the leghorns ( ideal 236) attacked her. ( not a brooder,food or heat issue, I have 4 birds in a 6x6 brooder with heat lamp in my work room just mean leghorns ) any way. She has soft fluffy feathers coming in. Any help with breed and gender would be helpful.

Yes that's a cockerel. Shame really because the pullets I got from that cross were really lovely birds and I would have tried to hatch more of them but unfortunately my RIR stopped laying. Would certainly recommend them if you get the chance to try again. They had lovely temperaments and laid beautiful green eggs.

Beard and pea comb? That's an Easter Egger cross. And 100% obvious male.

Not looking like there is any CCL in that cockerel. No crest, and a beard. EE mix.

5 months. No crowing attempts, no eggs. What do y'all think? 1 white & 1 black.

Both look like females to me at this point, but Silkies can surprise you.

He doesn't look like a good CCL either. The mom must be an EE or some bearded breed, because that trait is dominant and doesn't hide. RIRs aren't bearded.

Both look like females to me at this point, but Silkies can surprise you. 

Fingers crossed they are both girls! And what point should I know for sure? So far all but one of my silkies has been male

I really need some girls! I want me some fluff babies
