I'm wondering if they're buff orpingtons?
I'm wondering if they're buff orpington?
Any guesses on this little one? I got four new babies from a friend yesterday. They are 6 weeks old and she didn't know breed or gender for any of them. This one has more pink/red on the face and wattle development.
Looks like maybe RIRs and possible cockerel, but time will tell
Haha, X2 on that. It's pretty much impossible to tell gender in a chick this young unless it's a really early blooming rooster or if you are using different sexing techniques besides comb and wattles sexing, which is how I typically prefer to sex chickens. 6-8 weeks old is the "Sweet spot" where you can start to pick out the roosters out of pullets.
Oh thanks! My mom was trying to peer into their butts and that was making me really jumpy because they were squirming a lot.. Aha mom!
Vent sexing shouldn't be attempted unless you really know what you're doing
Any thoughts on these 2? They are mixed breeds and 7 weeks old.
Nope, there is one bird. It will be 24 hrs tonight at 11:50 tonight.
