Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

If they are all supposed to be red sexlinks of some sort, you have two males and three females.

I am not actually sure what breed they are. I got them from tractor supply, who said they were all supposed to be female. Two are all white, 4 are brown and white. I will go out and see if I can get better pictures. Tha KS for the quick reply!

Sorry. Here is a little better pictures. They are all obsessed with a corner of the coop so it's difficult to get a good picture.

The browns look like red sex links / production reds / isa browns etc. (They have many names.) They all look like females. The white ones could be either some type of Leghorn pullets or males if they truly are red sexlinks. Often the feed stores combine bins as the chicks sell & the signs may not get transferred with them.

Hello! We were surprised with chicks on Easter morning, from my "wonderful" parents, who thought our life wasn't interesting enough with 3 young boys and 2 dogs! So, now we are the proud owners of 6 mystery chickens from Tractor Supply that my Dad cant remember what bin he took them out of!! Oh well, my husband built a coop and we do have 3 acres and our development isnt anti-chicken, so we are now embracing the chicken lifestyle! I need helping determining the gender...

Chick #1

chick # 2

chick #3

chick #4

chick #5

chick # 6

chick # ?? (we lost track)

All but number 3 are red sexlink pullets. They can be sexed with 100% accuracy based on coloring. #3 is a Production Red and needs a few more weeks before gender can accurately be assessed.

All are red sexlink pullets except for #3. That one appears to be a production red and most likely also female. At least you got some good egg layers rather than a bunch of roosters!
