These 4.5 week old Easter eggers confuse me, the comb color is the same but one has 3 rows visible = rooster (right?) but the other has pea comb also but with only one row visible. So do I go only with comb color and judge them both roos or is the comb shape an indicator too?

With Welsummers, you don't need to wait weeks for the combs to redden up. You know what you have once the chest feathers start coming in. Only the males will have black feathers on the chest.

Comb color is the most reliable indicator for Easter Eggers. Both of those chicks are much to pink, much too early for pullets.

They are not the best pictures, I just had a few calm moments while bringing them in from outside to snap a quick few pictures. I'm thinking I should take videos, and then screencap better pictures, or upload some animated gifs.

Pullet. The comb is supposed to start developing and turning pink at that age. It means she's hitting puberty and her body is getting ready to start laying eggs.

Yeah I was really hoping she was a girl as She is my Favorite. Thanks.

ok, so I'm new to the chicken world and I'm new to this site. I am a first time owner of silkies, which I am really growing to LOVE. However, I am having some trouble sexing them. I have 2 (as of now) 1 white, 1 blue. I thought for a while that the white was a male and the blue was a female but recently I'm beginning to think the opposite. I'm driving myself crazy lol, any help or thoughts would be truly helpful!! thanks!!! The pics included were taken yesterday while I had them outside enjoying some sunshine while we work on their coop.

Do you have a comb/face photo of the blue? White looks like a pullet to me.

Not 100% sure if these are hens or roos. All are 12 weeks. First 2 are bantam chicks from TSC, and last one is an easter egger (supposedly sexed, but behavior makes me curious)
