Also 10 is advisable per rooster but you can have 7 or 6 (as long as they aren't stressing them or over mating).

I'm keeping more then one male. They say 10 hens to every rooster. I think if they have grown up together you have a better chance at making it work. No chance when bringing an outsider in. Good luck.

To young to sex for sure but so far no signs of being cockerel for the Silver Grey Dorking (The Australorp picture isn't showing up).

Omg chicken math is the worst lol. We just ordered 10 chicks from mpc and bought 5 full grown hens plus have 17 eghs in the incubator. 12 silkie eggs on the way along with 6 duck eggs also being shipped. Whew. I asked hubby to take my debit card or we will go broke buying chickens hahahaha
