Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Any opinions on these two now that they are 11-12 weeks old? They are blue cochin/easter egger mixes. I noticed the pretty tail feathers on the black one about a week ago. It has massive legs and sure likes to fight with the blue one still...

They both look like cockerels.

Well, darn. Even the blue one? It's tail feathers all point downwards...although I do see some curly saddle feathers now that I think about it. It was so much fun letting my broody hatch and raise them. I'll be sure to start listening for crowing and to keep some collars handy.

Even with the pink in the comb at only 8 weeks? Don't get me wrong I want a pullet we have 39 chickens and 6 are roosters

Yeah. Some pullets are early bloomers. I'd keep an eye on her, but that is very common feathering for EE hens. If you are still worried, post pics in a couple weeks to confirm.

Hi! I have 4 chickens that I hope are all girls. A Wyandotte, a Barnevelder, a Speckled Sussex and an Olive Egger (Welsummer, Maran, Cream Legbar mix - looks heavy on the Welsummer and Cream Legbar). All are now 6 weeks.

Here's some photos of the Barnevelder

It's very timid and runs away from me and freaks out if I grab it. It feels very different when I do though - solid, wider in the chest than the rest of the chickens.

Here you can see the Barnevelder with the Wyandotte (and a bit of the Olive Egger).

Any cockerels? Need better photos? Or too young to tell on any of them?

Thanks for your help!
