You shouldn't advertise them as Barred Rocks. They are black sexlinks.Well if y'all are right I'll have 2 barred rock Roos up for grabs. I already have 1. Can't have 3

It's not just the shiny green feathers. Black sexlink males can only have a single copy of the barring gene, from their mothers. A purebred Barred Rock male always has two copies of the barring gene, one from the mother and one from the father. This gives them a 'lighter' appearance. No matter how much a black sexlink male resembles a Barred Rock, he should not ever be presented as one, simply because he doesn't have all of the right genes.Ohh. I'm still learning. Suppose I was confused bc they have the same pattern as a barred rock. But they do have shiny blackish green in their feathers here and there
At only 5 weeks old, with a comb that red, cockerel for sure.Hi Guys
Do you have an clue if my dear 'Sprinkles' is a cockerel or a pullet? Shes ongoing 5 weeks and is one of my beloved barnyard mixes that I hatched myself. She used to have an orange head when she was little but now just has a 'mask' of orange around her eyes
I was told on another thread that her and her two other siblings were indeed cockerels, But I would appreciate other peoples opinions.
Here she is:
Thanks,
