Not everyone knows how sexlink genetics work. And they don't realize that the sexlinking does not work for second generation birds. Emmet is definitely a cockerel, no question about it.The fair said he was a hen.
Are these pullers or cockerels? Both were guessed to be cockerels at around 8 weeks old because of redness and cackles. Now they are 19-20 weeks old. They don't act like Roos, but I'm no expert!
The Golden-laced, Pipsqueak, often has a very red face. We just assumed he was a rooster, but now I don't know.
Willow, my silver-laced, rarely has a red cackles. I nearly got rid of her early on because she looked like a rooster. Hoping she's a hen! Thanks in advance for your help!
