Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

We had 10 hens last year and 1 roo added another that was given to us and it was a disaster. they were both lovely kind rosters but, they fought and I had to give one away. It was worst in the hen house where there was little space to run away. They would go at each other in the mornings. I worried that they would kill each other. Outside one was always alone, had no ladies and got no food.
There are a lot of factors because I have 7 roosters 2 standards 1 giant and 4 bantams all young and introduced properly and we have 43 hens mix sizes and they're all fine and have their boys and get along all of them crow every morning except the youngest he's just not ready yet. The main thing is ages you intro and always introduce them with an ally

Asking for someone else. @junebuggena is this 6 month old rir a hen or rooster? Huge comb but no saddle feathers.. thanks.

FuzzFaceFarm my experience with no crow collar leads me to day put a sock in it!--or rather On it! Recommended by my 11 yr old granddaughter in Texas. A child's sock. Ours is a cut open 2 yr olds, her cousins' in Ca. Interstate-in-the-family kind of experience. Tried with 2 Roos. 1 was to aggressive to keep. The other, Reuben, my husband says "Rooben", is a happy part of our flock family.

He struts, flaps, mates and crows. Not as loud or long but seemingly just as proudly! The nearby neighbors tell us he doesn't bother them (3 households). We do take him inside until 8 am. Has his own roost-in-a-box. I hold and hand snack him on my lap before we release the girls into the play yard. Excuse me, the chicken run. We put him in the yard where he dances and struts 'til the girls come rushing out. Then he chooses his first mate of his glorious city day!

I have heard of using baby or toddler socks and am going to give it a try first since it's much cheaper than ordering and taking a gamble on the no-crow collar. Have you ever used the sock version?

I hope I load pics rright. It's the 1st time I'm trying from my phone.

White is Sparky. All black is Dulce. Black with large gold hackle is Hazel. Black with smaller gold hackle is Mabel.
Am I in trouble with those names?

Sparky is a good male name I would say and suits the white one.... that comb is too big and red at this age to be a pullet.
I think Hazel may need a name change.... that tail looks suspicious!...That said, if Hazel is a black sex link which she looks like, then she must be female.

Where did you get them and were you told what breeds they are?

Thanks for your response! You've given me lots to think about.
I took pics at the same time this afternoon of the parents in case showing them might be helpful.
I guess having said that it becomes obvious that they were hatched here. My silkie hatched them in with 3of her own. The hen whose egg produced Sparky is part or all white leghorn, named Snow White. The hen of the black chicks is Henrietta who looks exactly like the black chicks with gold hackles. Daddy Roo of all is a colorful mix named Creamy Roo.
I got the hens from a local backyard keeper/breeder and his are mixed unless coincidence puts two same breed chickens together. Creamybwas a gift from friends. If you happen to have thoughts on their breeds I'd be happy to hear.
Sorry for being so long winded.
I'm new to this especially gender traits. Can you please describe what you see in the suspicious tail and any other traits that speak to you? Your input is much appreciated!
