Hi!

I'm newer to raising chickens. I'm trying to tell if my 4 buff orpingtons are girls or boys. The two smaller ones are 5 days younger than the 2 bigger ones. They are 5 and 5.5 weeks old. I also have 7 4.5 week old Easter eggers I'd like to know about. Is it too soon to tell for them or can I post pics of them too? Thank you!!

I see some pink/red wattles in the two in the background. It may really depend on the line of orps if it means anything. I'd keep an eye on the comb color & size of those two.

I've got a few 11 week old silkies. I thought the white one was a male and the buff female but now I'm not sure anymore. I know that they are hard to sex but I'm curious to what you think.

First time in 5 years of bringing chicks home to our backyard flock we think we've ended up with a rooster. Goblin is an Easter egger. We've been handling him since day one (or two), and in these pictures he's 9 weeks old. We nicknamed him "bossy pants" as a chick for the way he pushed around the other chicks and more recently, he's biting them on the neck and all sorts of other protective behaviors. So far we've only heard a couple strangled isolated crows, no noises that we haven't heard from a hen some point. His comb is more developed than the chicks we purchased at the same time. He is VERY sweet toward humans (so far). Can you clarify before we re-home him?

I have a barred rock that I'm hoping is a pullet but she is getting a little too red for my liking on her comb what do you guys think?

It took me a moment to figure out this pic.  It looked like a 3-legged chick.

I didn't even think about it but yes that's the cockerel behind her. My luck I would get a 3 leg

I'm leaning toward cockerel going by his aggression and reddened comb, but I'd certainly get a few more firm opinions before making any decisions. For her/his sake, I hope I'm wrong! ~Sarah

How old is she- 8 weeks or so?

5 weeks and is definitely the boss! Anytime I go in the pen Midnight always attacks me which is an easy fix if "she" keeps at it!
