Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Coloring indicates pullet. And the comb isn't very developed yet. Are you sure it was this one? Are you even sure it was a crow?
What I heard was a very pitiful attempt at a crow...the two who are with her/him are both cockerels and are starting to crow. I know it wasn't the Olive Egger as he has figured his out and while it isn't 100% yet I know when he crows. The other one is that barred rock you sexed for me a while back...I actually saw him attempt to crow. When I looked away is when I heard the pitiful crow and when I looked back she/he was standing on the feeder with its head up in the air...so long story to say I'm not 100% sure it was this one. It's comb looks just like the barred rock to me, just not as red...Here is the barred rocks comb and the other one.

That's not a Barred Rock. Cushion comb and muffs/beard. But see how much more developed the comb is compared to the Blue? Pretty sure the Blue is a pullet.

LOL...I know he isn't...I call him that because of his color...he is an EE. Thanks for the opinion on the blue one. All of the boys (3 Ameraucana's 1EE & 1OE) are going to a new home this evening and if the blue was a boy it was going to! Out of 13 chicks I ended up with 9 cockerels!

The back photos confirmed that the darker spot that gave me pause was just a shadow. I'm voting pullet as well.

Bummer on the 9 cockerels. I can't remember who it was who hatched 6 and got ALL cockerels but 50/50 only happens with large sample sizes. This, of course, means you must hatch more :lau

Ouch! That's a lot of cockerels!

Although I can't identify a definite gender of your blue-gray EE, it may not be all bad. At least it's NOT looking male at this point.

LOL!!! If uttered the words "I'm going to hatch more eggs." I know my husband would have me committed! I think I'm done with the hatching for a while that cockerel whammy hit hard! I'm going to order some sexed chicks...at least there are WAY better odds of getting pullets! Thanks for taking the time to look at my chicks!!!

Hi! I am new here, and I registered because I have 2 white leghorn chickens, almost full grown. One is laying eggs, while the other one I think is a roo, but I'm not sure. One of them is definitely a hen, hence the eggs, and I'm sure its my smaller one, Blue, but I'm really not sure. They both have spurs, and they look similar. Delta, my probable rooster, keeps making deep sounds that sound kind of like crows, but they are still faint and they are about 5 months old. This is my first time raising chickens, and I love them to death, but I really don't know what gender they are. Please help me.

Here are some pictures. One with big comb is delta and small comb is blue

Pullets. Not seeing any spurs. All chickens have spur buds.
