I'm very sorry for little homeless raggedy's looks. I threw rocks at a hawk to save his life today. It can't see very good both eyes are black and it's missing a fairly large chunk of skin/feathers on back of it's neck
Great job saving him! I fantasize a moment where I have perfect aim and knock the hawk down to lol

They are between 13 -16 weeks old. I got them 13 weeks ago...but I know they weren’t day old chicks. I’m guessing they were 2-3 weeks old when I got them.
I believe them all to be male in that case.
The black Silkie is the only one I could believe is female. But I still believe it to be male. Please keep me updated!

The black silkie is half the size of the two white ones...so I was thinking female too...but who knows? I keep waiting on them to crow! I’ll come back and post an update in a couple of weeks...surly they will let me know by then!🤣:idunno

They have male feathering. :D
So is it the coloring? I thought the 2 dark ones looked male, but on the first blue one, I still can't tell what you are seeing that makes it for sure male. I usually have to wait for the solid patches to come in on the wings to tell.

Worried that both of my two new chicks that were supposed to be pullets are roos. The combs look big to me but I do not have any other RIR's to compare them to. Hoping for good news since we cant keep roosters but wondering when I will know the truth for sure. They are currently 4 weeks.

It's pretty early.
I would repost in a couple weeks.
I've seen RIR pullets with a fair amount of comb - it does happen.
I would pray those combs don't get much bigger. 🤣
