What exactly does cuckoo mean, is it a type of coloring? What? I keep seeing the word pop up but can't find what it means anywhere......

Cuckoo: A term applied to the coarse and irregular type of Barring found in Dominiques,
Barred Hollands, Cuckoo Belgian Bearded d'Anvers Batams.

Barring: Alternate transverse markings of two distinct colors on a feather, regular in shape as in Barred Plymouth Rocks.

In other words, cuckoo is a barred bird. (Black and white stripes)

However unlike the barring associated with plymouth rocks and some other breeds, it is very fuzzy looking. Think of the difference as cuckoo being drawn freehand with crayons and barred being drawn with a straight edge and markers.
