Not Sure Whether To Buy Shipped Eggs

Shipping eggs has its challanges and even the best packed eggs, which never break in box, can be battered around so much in shipping that the interior is damage beyond hatchability. I honestly thing if the breeder is good, your chances of hatching are mostly up to your luck with the shipping carrier. Some guys are butts with fragile boxes, others are nice to them. The carrier makes or breaks a shipped egg.

They came from a breeder only 3 hours away so they didn't have to travel far. They're only small so I'm going to leave them point down and turn them only slightly for the first few days, I found some amazing YT videos on it. Thanks :)

I should also say that I did candle the posted ones before. All aircells still attached but a couple are saddle shaped so you can see they have been knocked about a bit.

I’ve taken delivery of 6 eggs from EBay and just this moment popped them in to the incubator. I’ve also snuck in an extra 5 eggs from my own hens as the Roo left us 2 weeks ago so hoping they’re still fertile! I cracked one open from today and it looked fertile so fingers crossed!! You may not get as high hatch rate with posted eggs but you should still get some x

I hope they all hatch for you!

I watched this video:

I'll be sure following his advice but looks like you already have the right turner, unlike me. Good luck with your hatch

Let them rest and don’t turn the turner on for 3 days after you put them in the incubator.

Letting them rest till tomorrow evening, hopefully my hen laid another egg to add, by then. I have a turner which rolls the eggs so I'm gonna stick to turning them myself point down. Thank you :)

I'm trying to be patient...but should the counting start on the day they were placed in the incubator or from when they were hatched or shipped?

Only count once they are in the incubator. Like mine are on day 0 currently until tomorrow at 2.30pm which is 24 hours after putting them in. They will then be day 1. Hope that makes sense.
